Therapeutic Horseback Riding also known as Adaptive Horseback Riding has been practiced for over 50 years, helping people with various disabilities. It benefits individuals facing physical, mental, and emotional challenges by combining traditional medicine with alternative health activities that care for the whole person. Adaptive Horseback Riding offers improved balance and strength, helping to build stamina. It also enhances flexibility and fine motor skills. Interacting with horses can ease mental health issues, promote relaxation, and boost focus. Participants build relationships with the horses and develop social skills through interactions with instructors and volunteers. They also learn skills such as repetition, riding patterns, task focus, and horse care. Riding activities can also incorporate basic math and reading skills.
